An Old Crystallization Technique as a Fast, Facile and Adaptable Method for Obtaining Single Crystals of Unstable "Li2TCNQF4" and New Compounds of TCNQ or TCNQF4: Syntheses, Crystal Structures and Magnetic Properties.
Slavomíra Šterbinská, Mariia Holub, Erik Čižmár, Juraj Černák, L. R. Falvello, and Milagros Tomás.
Cryst. Growth Des. 2023, 23, 6, 4357–4369.
As with the mayfly and other ephemeral species, crystals of some coordination compounds form and disappear under the same conditions, as the clock advances. A crystallization technique based on horizontal diffusion through a liquid medium facilitates the capture and characterization of the ephemeral crystalline solids.
Slow magnetic relaxation in Ni–Ln (Ln = Ce, Gd, Dy) dinuclear complexes

A gadolinium (III) complex with an unsymmetrical coordination environment has unexpected single-molecule-magnet behavior. Related Ce (III) and Dy (III) compounds were also prepared and their magnetism was characterised. See the article (Open Access).
A Route to Small Clusters: A Twisted Half-Hexagram-Shaped M4(OH)4 Cluster and Its Capacity for Hosting Closed-Shell Metals

Transition-metal hydroxy clusters with a heretofore unobserved core geometry have been synthesized by combining platinum centers with two different oxidation states and their corresponding different coordination indices and geometries. See the article.
